well first of all you need traction. There's your problem with you launches w. 4.10's there is no point in practicing, its useless. Get some upper and lower control arms. Second you definitly need better rubber in the back. With that right there you will have no problem, but i dunno about with the viper.

1 You didn't stand a chance against the cars you lose to anyways.
2 If you are parnoid about the cops are you racing on the street or the track? It didn't say.
3 Launching 4.10s is very hard on the street if you don't have 1/2 decent tires, DR's are perfered. You only tack the car up a bit (maybe a grand) and slip the clutch alot to get it to leave. You WILL break on the 1-2 for the first part of the gear and it will catch after that.
4 Practice practice practice.
5 Race cars you have a chance against

Time for a suspension set up.
Drag shocks or adjustables, set the front for easy release and set the back for stiffer for better wight transfer=traction
Lower control arms
Pan hard bar or mumford link, ditch upper control arms and remove quad shocks
remove front sway bar, just get some quik disconnects so you can leave it on for regular driving and disconnect it when racing
Torque arm
drag radials in 15" rim and 26 inches high, 8.5inch width is all you need but wider never hurts
Ditch as much weight as possible
Now all you need is a neck brace and a can for the viper driver to sit on so when you almost pull the front wheels up he can safely shat himself. LOL good luck
Practice, practice, this stuff does make it pretty easy though.

ive had the same problem on my bald tires. u just gotta give it like 4 or 5 times to get it down. try launching at lower and lower rpms and eventually ull find her, lock up, and get moving like you should

even if you nailed a perfect launch you woulda never beat any of those cars, maybe the TA if he didnt launch good and spun up to 3rd gear. Like most people mentioned above get LCA's and some DR's, add some practice and you got your self a great launching Stang.
