Default On or Off road?

Wut's up guys? I'm soon to be aquiring a mid-pipe and catback. I know for sure I want the Magnaflow catback (not magnapacks). I also know I want an H-pipe for the sound. I'm a little more concerned about the sound than anything. I want a good deep tone, but not real loud. The thing is, where I live, emissions are pretty leniant and loose. So, I could get an off-road midpipe with virtuallly no consequences. My question is, what are the benefits of offroad as opposed to catted? Do they perform better? How much louder are they, because like I said I want a deep, rumbly tone, but not horribly loud. Only loud when I really get on it. I wish I could explain a little better what sound I'm looking for, but the bottom line is I like the musclecar tone, but I don't like my pissy neighbors. So any advice or info would be a big help. Thanks.

Default RE: On or Off road?

i would say definately go with the catted H. Its going to be loud enough and when you get on it it will sound nice. I have a magnaflow catted x and a magnaflow cat-back on my car right now and it sounds awesome. I thought the x-pipe was gonna be a little to raspy, but it only pops a litle when i downshift. Magnaflow is made for the sound you are trying to get(quiet everywhere except was you punch on it), so i would say stay with magnaflow. Thats is best help as i could be sorry if i can't help you anymore.

Thanks for the info. I just wasn't sure of the main benefit of having an offroad midpipe. Catted sounds like a good idea. I'm glad you like the magnaflows, I've never heard anything bad about them and they seem to be exactly what I'm looking for.
