The hood we had on the Mrs' Stang was excellent quality and weight savings was considerable. They can be painted to match, but she wanted left alone for a different look. On a black car, the hood appears black from several angles.
code3GT who did you purchase the hood from???

Carbon fiber isn't a ricer thing... it's a performance thing.

CF hoods look great on black cars.... they match closely (depending on the color of the weave).

I had cf hoods on my 97 mustang and my 94. I don't know what kind they were but the fit quality was crap like all the aftermarket hoods I've had. Also I don't know if theres a special paint that needs to be used on cf but one of mine was black and there were new pressure cracks in it everytime I closed the hood and I closed it soft. Also I have a friend thats had a few cf hoods on his imports and he left them all unpainted and within months they were hazy and sun damaged. The one on my 94 was so hazy it almost looked like primer but i don't know how the last owner treated it. I can't speak for all the manufactures but from my experience Ill keep the stock hood.
