For those of you who are tire wizards....stock size is 245/45-17 as we all know, and when most people go to 18s, they go with a 295/35-18 in back. Basically that boils down to the 17 doing 785 revolutions per mile, whereas the 18 does 772 per mile. So when your speedo reads 60, you'll actually be driving 61mph. So does that mean you are putting more miles on your car then you actually are? or would that be less? Hurts my brain to even think about this.
A mile is a mile. If you move up to 18s, your tires will be rotating 7 times less per mile (according to your calculations). Hence, your drivetrain will also be rotating less as well. So, in answer to your question, yes. Which means, for every 110 miles, you will actually have gone 109 miles with 18s. Or, if you had 18s on your vehicle since new, and your odometer reads 50k, you are actually 450 miles less than that. Seems minimal to me.

That makes sense. Actually, it will be 13 rotations less per mile, but I get what you are saying. Well, I might call MT tomorrow and have them send out some 18s. As I said before, I am not in a real big hurry...just eats at me....

I guess I'm not even sure what I was looking at when I came up with 7.
