Default RE: Advanced timing fuel question

Does anybody really know what they are doing when they play with the timing? Or does everybody just max it out thinking its the best way to go. Advancing your timing will gain HP only to a certain point, after that you will loose HP fast. I know where I want to be in degrees, but this stupid percentage thing has nothing to do with the actual degrees.

when you raise it to 10 on the diablo tuner your raising timing 10% so its differnt then a mechanical timing adjuster where you raise it degrees....thru the rpm band 10% will be higher i think i saw numbers of WOT is like 26 degree advance and at lower rpm its 11 degree advance....with 93 octane your car will run fine mine does only problems i had was when i mixed 93 with about 3 gallons of 87 and i got detonation at WOT but after next fill up it all went away and now it runs great thru entire powerband...
