Default Ford Focus fuel pump?

I've seen a few people on here with the Ford Focus fuel pump listed as a mod. Is there a difference between the mustang and the focus fuel pump? Whats the advantage from the focus pump? Also whats involved in installation? Do you have to drop the gas tank?

SVT Focus pump flows more... so if you have bigger injectors (from nitrous or forced induction) you need a pump that'll flow more to back it up. You do need to drop the tank, otherwise it's almost a direct swap.

So unless I have nitrous or a supercharger I don't need to worry about it?

correct.
It does outflow the stock pumps by quite a bit though, and the install isnt that bad at all. I did mine with a friend in about an hour and a half. if you ever get a large (75+) nitrous shot, s/c or heads and cams i'd definetly get one though.

To be honest I was thinking of mach 1s with H/C/I because the are putting between 370-400 at the wheels, A GT i'm not sure. I know one thing though it def wouldn't hurt anything! The real tell tale will be you dyno sheets and a/f. If you start to lean out in the upper rpms I would definetly suggest it. It won't give you any more power- its just an extra safety precaution to avoid leaning out and detonating.
