ok, today at work one of my coworkers were talking about his uncles 98 cobra, saying that the 99-04 gt's were crap and his uncles cobra would kill us.....etc. his uncles cobra is a convertible and bone stock (ive seen it) my question is do i stand any chance against him, because i dont want to talk crap unless i can back it up

get gears man. gears and some good tires and you'll have him for sure

header (10-15hp) and mid pipes (5-10hp) will give u some hp gains for sure might i even add some 4.10gears ?

Those cobras are pretty stout. Im not sure but arent those cars just a hair lighter than the 99-04's. I would also believe that the Cobra has a different gear ratio...probably 3:55's.

they might be lighter, but he has a vert. so hes heavier. i thought the 97-99 cobras were rated 13.9-14.1 like the 99-04 gt's. then again i could be wrong

Truthfully I would say a drivers race. I have a vert and I raced a 98 Cobra and I jumped in front and he didnt start to pull on me hard till about 70+, I just had Pullies, O/R X-Pipe and exhaust. He had full intake and the same exhaust setup. IF he cant drive well you should beat him easily. Manuals really tell on you if you cant drive, my wife almost lost to a freakin Lincoln Towncar because of her low rev granny shiftin driving.
