SOHC= single overhead camshaft... meaning you have one cam per bank, controling both intake and exhaust valves... which is what all GTs 96-04 have
DOHC= dual overhead camshaft...meaning you have 2 cams per bank.. one controling intake and the other exhaust... which is what all mach 1s and cobras have

2 (1 Intake/1 Exhaust) valves per cylinder x 8cylinders = 16valve (8 Intake/8 Exhaust)
SOHC x 2 banks = 2 cams / by 2 banks = 1 cam per bank
4 (2 Intake/2 Exhaust) valves per cylinder x 8cylinders = 32valve (16 Intake/16 Exhaust)
DOHC x 2 banks = 4 cams / by 2 banks = 2 cams per bank
Correct?
