Personally I would go at least 3000-3500 rpm, IF it is a lockup converter. Also a $145 won't even pay for a rebuild on a good converter. You really need to spend money to get a good one, but they make a huge difference. My advice is to check out Precision, they are a sponsor and I have had great experiances with them.

Precision Street Stall 2200RPM = $314

I'm reading that 3000+ is more leaned towards track and not as good fuel economy.

Not bad for the street. Combine that with 373 or 410 gears and you will have a quick pony.

Yeah, I have 3.73.

I'm rebuilding my transmission with alto red eagle clutches & steel plates, HD2 transgo shift kit, all new seals, gaskets, bearings, kevlar bands.

Just thinking it would be a good idea to get a new TC too.

I dont brake torque on the street, but on the track I see where higher stall speed would make a difference.

Do you know what a lockup converter is and what it does? Basicly it had a clutch inside that locks up during part throttle cruising, your rpm's will be the same as stock at cruise. Trust me me these low rpm converters are just OK, if you want the full benifit you need a bigger one. What do I know though, I only daily drive my Yank 4000 rpm converter.
Also I don't think that is the same Precison that is a sponsor here, thiers are purple not blue, looks like a rip off brand to me.

LOL, calm down JD...they don't know. He's 100% right though. 2200-2600 is a waste of your time. 3500 would be perfect. Fuel economy will be just fine.

Not saying I don't trust you, I'm trying to save from spending the amount of money required for a higher stall.

If 2200-2600 can make a difference over stock, plus it being upgraded internals from stock then I'll purchase one for a cheaper price.
