things not to do when installing a fuel pump
first, replace the filler next-tank gasket, i didnt and half it broke and fell into the tank when i reinstalled it. second, be careful when wiggling the fuel lines, i boke one rusty line off the pump assembly and had to replace it. third, replaced the retaining clips on fuel lines if needed and not just hope it works. long story short, i screwed the 1-2 day project and made it a week long ordeal. on a side note, that gasket is impossible to find anywhere, no parts store had it. i had to overnight it from some place in dallas. and the retaining ring for the fuel line, hahah yeah right. no where to be found anywhere around here. the plastic ones are a joke and dont work at all. bright side is, i should have the new tune this weekend and everything sorted out by tuesday at the latest. should be back on the road middle of next week.

My cousin and I have a running joke that if it's supposed to take 2-3 hours, plan on about 2 days for driving back and forth to Napa, Oreilly's, etc or to Sears for some tool we need. It almost always turns out to be a bigger pain in the @$$ than originally expected. Damned Murphy's Law!

the only problem i had is my gas tank filler neck gasket riped a little. so i got a new one. all and all it took about 1.5 hours. i think the filler neck gasket is a must when replacing it. so buy one befor you start the install.
