All out exhaust modifications

All out exhaust modifications
Just bought a '99 GT 5 speed about a month ago, and have loved every second of driving it. But, one thing that has really gotten to me is the exhaust. It sounds pretty good for stock, but once I have some Cobra or GT or Trans Am blow past me, it makes me really know that my exhause is in for a major overhaul. Any suggestions? I am undecided between Borla, or Bassani mufflers. I want to go all out, with headers, off-road pipes, and new mufflers. Any suggestions on headers? I want to go long-tube. Also, any suggestions on the pipes? Is there a big difference between off-road H or off-road X pipes??? Any thing else that anyone wants to suggest?

Bassanni makes headers (mid length i believe) and an x pipe, while both make a catback
believe me, EITHER ONE will leave you with a hard on

Depends what you like, Borla Stingers sound amazing, Bassani also sounds good. I think Borla is in a different league though, they sound that good. H pipes sound great with stingers, head on over to mustangexhaust.com to pick out an exhaust combo that you like best.

RE: All out exhaust modifications
Take a look at my setup in my sig. Cost me a total of $1200 for the parts (NOTE: I did purchase accessories such as aftermarket header bolts, gaskets, and MILs).
This is the loudest setup available for a mustang. Extremely freaking loud at WOT, but you are able to keep it relatively quiet when needed. I love the setup so far, everything is going great. It sounds AMAZING!! Couldn't be any happier.
As far as advice:
DEFINITELY go with long tube headers if you do headers. Any other type (ie shorties) are completely worthless on our GT cars. Make sure you get ceramic coated too.
Midpipe: offroad is going to be extremely loud. Cats will significantly reduce the volume though, just in case you do want a lot of noise.
Catback: LM1's are the way to go, IMO!! But, just pick the one you think sounds the best!
