Will v6 springs work gt?
I was wanting to know if v6 springs will work on my gt? I bought a set and thought they were for my car but after guy shipped them he told me they were for a v6! Please give me your advice.

a v6 suspension should fit. if you look at all the suspension upgrades they shoulod say v6-v8 coupe springs. they will fit other than the fact that the gt will lower more in the front than the 6 cyl. but they should fit from 79 to 04. if i am wrong then help me people.

The V6 stuff will work fine, just keep in mind that your ride hight will lower, but handling will suffer because the spring rates for the v-6 are not the same as V-8 springs. It will be a compromise for hight vs handling. The V-8 springs are stiffer so they should have better handling, but if you want a smidge lower use the v-6 but there may be a bit of a loose or lean fealing when cornering with the v-6 spings. Good luck with that!

well i heard that v6 sport springs were good for a gt on drag race, due to the front being able to lift a little higher than the v8 therefore having a weight transfer to the rear. inorder to have weight transfer you need lighter springs in the front and heavier in the rear. and the v6t and v8 springs in the rear should be the same rate

check what brand and what year springs they are and go look on the manu's website (i.e. eibach and match up the part numbers). depending on the year, i believe like body styles 6s and gts should fit, but dont quote me. I was looking at a cheap set of used v6s and they would have fit my gt, same part number. cobras of course are different when they switched to irs. also i have heard if the 6s will fit, they might sit a little lower due to the 8s extra weight.

They may fit but will mess up the balance of the car and handling. The V8 is about a hundred pounds heavier than a six and the springs are designed to hold that weight. V6 springs arent designed to hold that weight. I would not try it if I were you.
