Default Aluminum Flywheel

Since I smoked my clutch last night, I decided that I'm going to do it right. I'm looking at a FIDANZA ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL. I keep seeing that they are for a 6 bolt crank. I thought the 2000 GTs had a 8 bolt crank. Anyone know?

Also, do people recommed a for flywheel? Aluminum or not..

for the flywheel... you have a 6 bolt crank/flywheel on your GT the cobras/ mach 1's are the ones with the 8 bolt cranks. i would say that you should get the type flywheel that you want.... aluminum means more rwhp hp but also it can cause more wear on the motor from not being balanced perfect. it all depends on what u want the car to do....

I have an 03 GT with a 6 bolt crank. I went with the Fidanza 15lb'er. So far I have had no issues with it. I only have about 600 miles on it.

dont you guys notice your rpms fall really fast between shifts with light flywheels? ive heard that they are good and bad.... good for launch but for shifting thru the powerband since the weight is lower the flywheel loses momentum faster causing rpms to drop fast inbetween shifts....

I havent noticed that at all in the Mustang. My old Probe GT did, but the mustang holds its rpms for long enough to get through the shift. Like I said, I LOVE my flywheel. Code3gt has the same one as me and he loved his from the moment it was on aswell, he's the one who recommended I get the one I have.

Definately, I had a Fidanza 9lb on my 94 Probe Gt. It was awesome. Now I got Fidanza 13lb on my Mustang Gt, it again...is awesome.
