Default Mixed info on Stage 1, 2, 3..

I have been looking for more info on performance parts that say they are stage 1, 2.. Like stage 1 cams. Or, stage 3 clutches. What is the differences between stages? Better yet, what the hell does it even mean (stage)?

Nothing really, that I've found. I was wondering this myself a while ago... They break their products down into "stages" or levels for performance... a Stage 3 cam is more aggressive than a stage 2 or stage 1 cam... same goes for clutches... a Stage 5 clutch will hold loads more than a stage 1. There's no central ruling body on stages though.

Yea pretty much.

As for cams, the higher they go the more aggressive. AkA the more engine work you need done to withstand them, and get their full potential out of them.

As for clutches... The higher you go the more they withstand and the harder them become to drive, lol. THe higher clutches are pretty much racing clutches so you can completely dump the clutch without burning it out after 4 times. They also become much harder to control for a daily driver. Definitely not needed if your not racing. Stick to Stage 1-3 in clutches, and Stage 1 in cams unless you plan on doing heavy engine work.

I installed a stage 3 SPEC clutch. If it is your daily driver I would not recommend it. It has a lot of clutch chatter. I has broken in over the last 600 miles but in traffic it is a pain. If it is your toy or weekend driver then I would deffenitly go stage 3.
