Default New DSS Racing motor on order

Story: idiot in a F150 smashed my 92 5.0 LX, I bought a 99 GT....2 months later there's a midget with a hammer inside the engine and he's trying to get out. So I've ordered a new ProMod longblock from DSS Racing as VT said he's 14 weeks out. I've ordered ported heads and cams as options to go with the forged bottom end with 10.5 to 1 comp. I should get it later this week. Rest of the car is stock except for a MGW shifter and T.Induction cold air.

Did I get the right stuff? :&gt I blame you guys if I didn't since most of my research was here! j.k. Gears to go with the cams next correct? Thanks for your input.

First thing your gonna need is a tune.

Also, i hope you are planning on spraying it instead of a blower/turbo (if anything). With that c/r any significant amount of boost is out of the question.

After the tune, gears and some suspesion work would look nice, unless you don't have a full exhaust on already.

Well, I was gonna go n/a with all the usual bolt-ons that are talked about here. I was hoping to get to '06 Corvette power without spraying. After looking at Code's mod list and power listed, I plan on the copy-cat route. Why not go with what works

So, I should buy a predator and take it to a dyno after Ford gets it going on the stock computer? Sounds like a plan. Guess there's a break in period for the engine first. Thanks for the advice.

I'm stuck with the comp ratio, if I wanted to lower it, is there something you can do after the engine is built?

Im not sure thats the greatest Idea. Does you dealership have a dyno? Id prolly just take it straight to the dyno shop. congrats man and good luck with everything
