Default slight backfire and car dying for now reason

well my car got hit a while back in the front 1/4 panel on the passenger side where my CAI was so i cut it off to a RAI since then i get a slight backfire when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd and on occasion the car will just die while cruising at any speed is this all because of the intake or what?
