My vote goes to S/C on a built longblock, p&p heads, with some good blower cams... t-56, 31 spline rear end, eaton posi, etc.

I would switch to a 4v engine. Either go with the 96-98 4v(italian aluminum block) or the 03 4v(cast iron block). Both are capable of around 800whp, but the cast iron weighs more. Either way you go. you will have to build the block up. I wouldn't go with a 2v, because those will just not be too reliable.

Many great options, let me offer mine:

4v built block w/ an centrifugal along with spray. My reasoning, 4v can breathe like no other and by spraying a charger, you lower the compustion chamber temp meaning more boost and more hp/torque. Also, you will virutually eliminate spool up. You'll get your hp from the charger and your torque from the spray. And obviously, you'll need a dyno tune.

Do this if money is not an object!

the 96-98 is considered good for over 1000, for some reason I'm thinking 1200 is the limit for that?

You'd have to spray before the supercharger to beable to effectively get more boost out of it. By cooling the air before, you're charging denser air, so you get more weight per volume. If you spray after, you'll reduce the pressure, but there should be less gains because you aren't allowing for an increase in the desity of the air (which is what really matters anyway). Now, whether you can spray before a superchager or not...I'm not sure of. This is just going by the physics of the process.

you will need about 550-600hp to get in the 10's that means if your charging you will need a built motor running around 15-18psi. If I wanted safe I would just build a N/A high compression 460 and drop in there. That would at least be cheap to build and last longer to.
