Should just rebuild the whole thing as long as it's out.

'fixing' synchros is what you do when you rebuild the transmission... it's about $1200 at a shop to rebuild it. For that kinda money I'd look into a new one.

I just rebuilt my T45 and tonight I will take it for a test drive. Honestly looking back I would have just upgraded, but it cost me under $500 to do all the works so it's not that bad. I don't plan on modding too much so the stock one will do

but yeah price around, if you are having them replace the 2nd gear synchro, better darn well have them replace them all. The 2nd gear synchro is one of the last pieces to come out, EVERYTHING else has to come out to get at um

They have a TSB on the T3650 transmission.... The kit to fix the problem is around $1300... I had problems going into 2nd and 3rd if I tried to shift fast...

hey thanks for all the input, i have a friend that works in a ford garaodge and hes friends with all the mechanics, he talked to one of them and they are willing to overhaul the tranny for 300 bucks and me buying the parts, so hurray, lol, i was just gonna buy a t-56 complete conversion for my car for 1999.99, but now i can spend that 2g's on something way better

O i thought rebuilding meant doing tons of stuff not just syncros. Like all New: Main case bearings, gaskets, seals, thrust bearings, extension housing bushing, shifter bushings, and Syncro rings
