I would start cheep, the TB should have a sucking sound as the car is running and very loud as you give it gas. I would start with new plugs, fuel filter with that many miles.
Plugs are easy but get a can of copressed air and clean out the holes after you remove the COP's if that year has COP's. If you want a better spark get copper NGK's or autolites for it. I have a 00GT and run the 764's. If you have wires change them too. i would look here for that.

and for the wires or COP's

Fuel filter is also easy you will need to pick up the tool to remove the hoes too.

Injectors may be little cloged but don't take it to the dealer for it. You can take it to other shops and it should be around 60 to do it. If they add a tank addative change the fuel filter after that.

clean the injectors.

Ive heard seafoam works, but getting them cleaned for real is prolly better. Hook the lines up to a machine. I cleaned the lines in my saturn (123 K) when the gas pedal stuck really really bad. After it was so loose. It was kinda annoying watching my saturn spit white smoke for like 10 mins straight though. Might be a little more so with a stang [&:]

Look for loose vacuum hoses first. 9/10 of the time that very symptom is a loose vaccum hose. It makes that sucking noise and causes the car to idle like shiznit. Could be your culprit.

You will get some very good info in here but in your problem it's like throwing $ at the problem wondering if that will fix it. so go with the cheep stuff. Vacume line is cheep and a very good idea so I would look into that. also you can get a can of starting fluit and spray it around when the car is running, if you find the leak the idle will take off.

+1 or an unlit propane torch has the same effect
