4whp from that screen? holy **** that sounds like a lot for that. they dont look that restrictive.
they dont look that restrictive.
i don't know, but the maf screen is kinda like a regular screen door, i imaging the engine is going to be sucking in alot of air when its making maximum power. if going from a 65mm tb to a 70m tb leads to an improvement, i can see removing that screen, which covers the entire cross sectional area of the intake, being an improvement.

Have you ever had a screen door caught by the wind and slammed open/shut?

If so, you know that while a screen is just a bunch of holes in fabric/metal, it is still a sheet of fabric/metal. There is definitely resistance to a screen and I imagine there will be a measurable restriciton as indicated above.

If you don't mind going to a less restrictive filter, you shouldn't mind going to a less restrictive tube. Toss the screen and reap the rewards.

DO NOT take your screen on on a stock intake..you're gambling with your MAF.... Took mine out and my MAF pooped out, I'm NOT the only one either.

your stock airfilter location was in the fender? or just the silencer tube? the idle problem was experienced by people with the filter in the fender which, of course, had a curved tube leading to the maf. that curve pathway just prior to the maf seemed like the problem.
