The X Pipe will definitley sound better, and may even give you a couple horse over a straight pipe design...you have to have a connection to equal out the pressure...

Are you talking about not running a cross over in your exhaust? You really don't want to run straight pipes if that's what your talking about. That will resonate really bad.

Are you asking about, say, a catted X pipe verses an off road X pipe? What the hp difference between those is? If so, the catless will have a bit more, prolly not noticeable. If you have an emissions heavy state though you should get catted.

From what I read, its only ok for V6's to run straight pipes with no crossover, its due to the firing sequence of the V8's

ok thats what i was wondering because who ever had my stang before me did the straight pipe thing, but it has a small like inch pipe that runs and is welded in between the two, no sure if thats just a brace or what not.
