This is a common sense question guys. You engine does not have a brain, and will not say "no f*ck that, i just had synthetic in me" and blow up if you decide to go back to a regular castor oil. Yes, on a regularly driven car, you can run about 5000 on synthetic, and 3000 on castor oils. I don't care who tells you that after going to synthetic you can't go back to castor, that is total BS....most likey just a way to get you to always spend more money on sythetic oils.

mobil 1 full syn ONLY in mine. I worked at a repair and lube shop, when i was a kid and all the cars that the people were trying to save a few $ with the dead dino leaked and used oil, 2/3 of the cars that used the full syn didn't have the same problems. Also conventional oil will burn under normal operation and synthetic won't. so what happens is, most of the people that have cars don't service them on time. I rember a car that was new had like 60k and came in for the first change. I took off the filter and it was like gum. I showed my boss the owner and he refused to work on the thing it was like a 81 honda accord.

You can alwase tell the oil in a car, just open the filler and look in, if it looks like little black chunks it's burnt oil. If you put Trans oil in there with a new filter and run that it will clean it out bacause ATF is full of cleaners, then go with a good oil after that and change it every 3k or 3 month's. The auto manufactures say you can go 5k and so do you oil co's but look at what business there in. The manufactures want to sell cars and the oil co only want you to use there oil, so thay don't want your car to last becaues they want to sell you a new one and the oil co's are only after that person trying to save a buck by going 5k on a oil change.

Everyone I've asked about it says you could switch back and forth all you want, it's just recommended to use the same oil when topping up between changes.

my GT has 103k miles on it and i changed it to mobil 1 Extended Performance (15k mile full synth) and has had no signs of oil leaks or drop in oil level. i check it every time i fill up with gas and its never gone down.

i also added a can of engine restore to help condition those seals that might leak from switching. no smoke no nothin. im happy
