Evena catted H-pipe will only be about $400.

I got mine for $289..... Get him an H-pipe, much deeper. But find out what kind of catback he has.

Alright, he has a Flowmaster catback system. So the general consensus is an H pipe. I've read it give 20hp boosts (is that right?) and you guys are saying it gives a great sound, too (nice, jonbeast!!). If it can be installed with easy access to the undercarraige (as karmstrong mentioned about the X pipe) it would def. be a good choice. What do you guys mean when you say o/r?

So now it comes down to the actual product, what brand should I buy that will give me the best value? I'm looking at this BBK set, what do you guys think?

o/r = off road, meaning no catalytic converters.

And yes, it will sound badass, just like JB's car.

oh okay, is an o/r cheaper or does it meet more regulations or something? Does it give less hp or sound than a normal h pipe?

Thanks for your help thus far everybody, VERY useful info!! I love forums.

2hp gain or so, nothing noticeable.

If you have emissions, they will fail the sniffer.

Oh, and o/r mid-pipes are by far cheaper!

Well, depending where you live, an o/r midpipe will not pass emissions. Hence the OFF ROAD aspect.

An o/r midpipe will give you a little more power than a high flow catted one, but they are a LOT cheaper. Plus, o/r pipes are louder and meaner.

I disagree, JB. It depends on the catback.

My Catted H + SLP I's > Your flows + O/R H (loudness wise, keep your pants on)
