x-pipe + lowering issue

my bbk catted X scrapes on just about everythign now that I put in new springs, so I wanted to see what catted Xpipes you guys have that do not have clearace issues. word to your mothers. bbk is the devil, btw.

RE: x-pipe + lowering issue

I had clearance issues with my bassani x-pipe, but then I realized that the bassani rings that join the midpipe to the muffler pipes are a bit too big, so you have to turn them to the side (they're ovals, you know?). Once that was done, it was much much better, but I still scrape the occasional speedbump when the stang has 2 or more people in it.

come on people... tell me which xpipe you have on your lowered stang and whether or not you scrape... I dare you.

RE: x-pipe + lowering issue

I scrape the cats occasionally with 2-3 people in it, but mine's not lowered. I'd say just get a catless X and put on the catted one when emissions check comes around.

RE: x-pipe + lowering issue

I don't want my car to be that loud or that smelly. I know I want the catted X, I was just hoping that there were some companies that made one that wasn't lower than a stock H pipe.

RE: x-pipe + lowering issue

I just installed the BBK X pipe on my ride and I have the Eibac (sp) lower springs, 1 1/2".. I now have an issue.. Sometimes backing out of my drive way and on speed bumps.. I installed it my self and the issue is the angle the pipe is bent after it connects to your headers.. I see no possible wave of fixing it.. Mines not great but still driveable..

BTW.. Seeing you have a BBK X pipe do you have a 'rasp' that comes from your X pipe when you rev it? The best way I can explain the 'rasp' is it sounds like there is a loose bolt and vibrating around in the X pipe when reved hard.. I know for a fact there isn't a bolt loose and I know its coming from the X pipe cus I've gotten down by it and can tell.. Its like the air inside of it turns to a 'rasp' for what ever reason.. Very hard to explain..

RE: x-pipe + lowering issue

hmm, I have some rasp, but i'm almost certain I have an exhaust leak. it's a tick-tick-tick sound like something is indeed rattling, but mine isn't at high rpms, it' smore at lower rpms going 30-45 mph when I give it gas, or when I'm going up a hill at 2000 rpms. also, I have straight-through mufflers, not chambered, I dunno if that matters.

that's my car in the upper right hand corner video. got the catback for free in exchange for letting them take fitment pictures and make that video. the sound on that video is kinda crappy.
