Question

The model years 96 - 98 svt cobras are rated at 305hp right?

I have always thought this but recently I heard people say that they only put out about 250hp. Is this correct, i don't know much about cobras/

305 is rated HP at the flywheel.........

the 250 you are refering too is Rear Wheel HP................

I'm not sure but I think they put out a it more at the wheels.......270 - 275

hmm I thought they were like 285ish at the engine- probably wrong though.

I dynoed 265 to the wheels with just a filter and terrible plugs.. my dyno chart is in my gallery. It was kinda funny, you could see where it was pulling timing and advancing it during the run... random spots where a chunk is taken out and where a chunk is added.. new fuel filter and new plugs and she runs soo much smoother.

The third run on my dyno sheet was "disallowed" my dyno guy threw it out.. it spiked timing and leaned out to a 14 at the same time.. hp jumped to 275 then droped straight down.. was a 100% vertical blip on the chart about 1500rpms before normal peak hp... scared the crap out of him and he killed the run right then.. but it looked kinda cool on the graph[8D] (why it only shows 2 runs on my sheet).
