Default Handheld tuner and emissions questions

If I get a handheld tuner do I need to reinstall the factory tune when I go for emissions testing...I am planning on getting an o/r x and swapping in my old h with cats when it comes time for testing...WIth the tuner can I just turn back on the 02 sensors and leave the tune on, or do I need to throw back the factory tune? Any help is appreciated...

I'm not positive but I think you can keep your performance tune. IF not, switching tunes isnt hard at all.

just remember if you set the tune back to stock to go in for the test you will fail b/c all the driving history will be erased. You will have to complete run cycles. i found that out the hard way

50-100 miles is what the inspectors say.

why do you guys bother swapping back and forth with cats and no cats, i mean do one or the other and leave it, its more of a hassle to put on/take off, then it is to gain the extra 1 horse, i dont get why you guys do it, plus if you dont have them on you can get in trouble if you get pulled over, i mean they can hear the difference between cats/no cats....why dont you just run cats with no muffs? that would make it louder...

cause no cats sounds different and whats the point of a catback if you dont use the mufflers. if its not a problem to switch you midpipe out for a day, then why not? i will be doing this when i get an o/r pipe cause i like the sound

its just not somehting you want to do with exhaust, once it is sealed up it wont be the same after you break the seal...you dont get a catback if you dont run muffs, you just take the stockers off, and put a pipe, call it good, why spend over $1000 for full exhuast when you can get it as good if not better sounding for like 50-100...im glad mine was all full exhaust with headers when i bought mine, hahah
