what would be considered a good suspension setup? sway bars, shocks and struts, and control arms. would that be it or what? i don't know a whole lot about suspension but i want the best.

All of the above. If you are really serious about handling, it all starts with the springs. They lower your center of gravity and increase handling substantially. Change the shocks and struts at the same time since your suspension will be apart anyway. If you have the bucks, go with an all in one package such as those offered by Steeda. They are pricey but will save you bucks in the long run if you should end up buying all the same parts one at a time.
