I should have lost????

RE: I should have lost????
I understand that, and Im not calling it a bad system. Just make sure u keep ur heat sheild on it. I cant remember the exact number, but its like every 10 degree drop can add 1 hp through an intake, and if outside its 80, and its almost 200 in ur engine bay ur loosing power no matter what ur tube looks like. Now, the downside to the MAC CAI is that the tube is metal (but i think its 4 inch still) and that metal can get hot... but the air is moving sooo fast at wot that it wont heat up over 10 degrees. i think the JLT system has a plastic tube which would have been better for me than MAC, and for the nitrous install (drilling and tapping a mac tube sucks ***). but now that I have it im sticking with it. and even if I had gone JLT I would have done CAI and not RA. and all CAI kits are still restricted at the MAF. ud have to replace that as well to really utilize ur intake, but then to see the best out of that u need a tb, plenum, and full exhaust.... and then cams and p/p to really take advantage of that.....

RE: I should have lost????
I have
75MM TB
75mm upper
Steeda egr spacer
I don't have headers or cams
I have the Bassani X
and flowmaster cat back.
I have felt that, with out the sheld when the car is hot she idls funney, but with the sheld it's sucking from the fender wall. and runs smoooooooth.
should i get shorty headers for it?

RE: I should have lost????
i dont remember who posted those Cobra numbers, but from what ive seen listed as stock numbers, they were all off about 5-10
93-245??
94-95---240
96-98---305 4V 4.6
99,01---320
03-04--s/c 390/390
is that right??
and as well, from what ive heard 1/4 times are very similar in a 96-98 as a 99-04 GT
sure the cobra has a better future potential, but stock times ive seen are within driver error margins

RE: I should have lost????
according to KBB.com, the 5.0s were 240, the 96 was 300 even, the 99 was 316, and 390 for terminator. kbb has been wrong before but they usually have good information, so i trust them. and if they are off by 5 its not gonna make a big diff anyway. ur motor can change 5 hp on 2 consecutive dyno runs

RE: I should have lost????
Ok, back to the original question.
Should you have lost? If it was what you thought it was, maybe. But maybe you found someone who was worse in the 1/4 than you?
Or maybe you're just getting better.
