First of all in my oppinion i would not recomend a MGW. The gears are way to hard to get into and revers is nearly impossible unless your motor and tranny are warmed up and still they can be stiff. Ive had mine for a month no so it should of already broken in. I would recomend the steeda tri axe and as far as a shift know I thought the 2 inch ones were to small for my hands. They make one that is 2.25 inchs called a fat ****

I've got my stock shift **** on my MGW and love it... Only thing I would replace it with is a leather one.

You know, I'm experiencing the same issues with my MGW. Getting into reverse is a big PITA, but I figured it was a borked install . Has any other MGW owner noticed difficulty with reverse?
