aluminum driveshafts

RE: aluminum driveshafts
I got a aluminum after the TKO install, because my shop somehow managed to put a bent yoke back on my trans.
I could tell no difference between the two driveshafts, other than the bent old one was vibrating the crap out of the car above 50 MPH and the new one did not.
Reduced rotational weight is a plus, but when I measured the two I think it was only a difference of like 8 or 10 pounds (don't remember). The stocker is remarkably light for a OEM piece.
I would not spend money on it unless there was something wrong with the old one. You are not going to notice a difference on the street.

RE: aluminum driveshafts
True, My stock shaft was bent also, major vibration on highway. If you need a new DS, dont get OEM, just get an aluminum. If you are just looking to upgrade your DS, keep this mod towards the last of your list.
