Default Intake Wrap?

I have a K&N FIPK intake and was wondering if adding heat wrap to it or any intake would help or not. Has anyone here done it or is thinking of it. Also what brand of wrap to use and where to get it........thanx

yeah if you live out in the desert like me... it would help to reduce the heat of the tube.. but you still will be drawing hot air.. its gets to around 105 here.. so it reall doesnt matter what you do the air itself is HOTT!!!

ive never heard of intake wrap but i know exhaust wrap is to keep the heat inside them so that the rest of the engine is cooler so idk if that'd work on a intake but then again its not like the intake disapates heat nor will it be that much of a difference.

if you want cool air check out the cryo2 stuff. just put the thing in your intake pipe and the liquid co2 cools your intake like crazy

I live in iowa and drive my car year around. The only performance mods for now are the intake and flowmasters but "I drive it like I stole it". The K&N intake has a metal heat sheild and plastic tube but I figure that eventually that both get hot too and I figured heat wrap will improve the idea of the heat sheild more. I'm sure it won't add power I can feel if any at all but any cheap way to help the stang is worth it to me. The summer gets hot but yet the air temp is cooler. The heat is mostly from the sun and humidity
