They're fast, my friend has a 94Z28 with SLP catback and intake and ran a 14.1 at 96mph and my other friend has a 95TA with full exhuast, 3600 stall, K&N cai, and performance tune and ran 13.4 at 101, both of them have put less then 6grand into the car, counting the car it self.

well in response to the original question, the LT1 is capable of alot of power for pretty cheap. The LT1s are practically bullet proof for quite a bit of power and most likley cheaper to build. The blocks are capable of holding up to 850 to 900 hp, the crank can hold about 600 to 650 hp and the pistons and rods can hold about 550 hp. The down falls are the heads, springs and roller rockers arnt very strong. But i agree with everyone else that they look ugly as hell. Something like a streched out Cavaliar on crack. Stock lt1 vs. stock Gt are pretty close.

i ran a modded LS1 camaro earlier and dusted him completely and that is with a 3rd gear that is very hard to get into. he had full exhuast, gears, and an intake.... he should be a 12 second car i would say... it was a 6 spd one too.

you guys are missing the part about how mods for the f-body are cheaper but rebuilding the back end isn't... so in the end it all works out [8D]
