I believe the rev limit is a factory fuel cut off. That is actually what physically cuts out.

actually it would not cut fuel, which would cause a really lean condition. It just cuts spark on random cylinders, several at a time until RPMs drop.. does it all in miliseconds so you don't have to

Um nope it cuts fuel, the MSD Box cuts spark. Also it's not the fact that the rotating assembly is not forged that limits the rpm of an engine, the valve train and head flow are what limit the rpm potential of an engine more than anything. That and the balance of the rotating assembly.

so for being stock it is of no real advantage to change the rev limiter yet?
