Default Intake manafold

The thermostate housing on my 1998 GT is cracked. Ford want 1G for the replacement part. I do not want to get another ****ty plastic part from ford. Is there a good after market part to replace it with.

First off, they should replace it for free. Second, they will not replace it with another plastic coolant crossover manifold, they will use the upgraded aluminum.

i don't think that with a 98 they will replace it for free. i think that the recall only lasts 6 years. but ask the ford company to make sure

i got a recall and didnt do it because i had already PI swapped my car, but the recall i got lasted 7 years and that was last year i got it. But if i were you id just buy a PI intake and do what you have to do to make that work. Some guys run PI intakes w/out the heads on here. I know it can be done.

i thought it just didnt cover the 96s and older. cause ive seen guys with 98s get their money. and 1grand is a rippoff. get a local garage to doit for half the price. the manifold itself can be bought for 100$ used, 200$ new. labor 200$ usually.

haha Do it yourself its like 8 bolts. The manifold is built exactly the same. You need thing that runs through the valley of your engine from the back of your water pump though. Forgot that.
