Obsolete parts?

RE: Obsolete parts?
check the intake manifold to see if it has the aluminum crossover because if it doesnt you WILL end up replacing it. I did, and the dealer charges like $700, unless you can do it yourself like I did with a neighbor and a 12-pack of beer. we knocked it out in about 3 hours.
When I bought my 96 Mustang GT.. I was looking at all of the Specs, etc.. Trying to learn about my new car.. Then I knew a little bit about cars, but my dad grew up in the Muscle Car Era and knows a small block engine up and down, in and out.. So I had a lot of help there.. The stock Intake Manifold (Plastic) is pretty much junk.. I do not know when they made the upgrade for it, but they did which as as mentioned in the quote an Aluminum Crossover on the front of the Intake Manifold.. When revv'ing those cars at a high RPM, (which you are obviously going to do as it is a V8 Mustang) the stock intake manifolds have a very high tendancy to crack in the front.. Mine did it.. It cracked throughout the front.. All of the water leaked and went into my Alternator which killed some of the bearings inside of it.. Finally I had to end up replacing the Intake Manifold with dad as my guide and getting the Alternator Rebuilt.. It sucks.. You might as well get it replaced now than it ****ing up on you down the line.
