Default Parking Brake!!!

my parking brake doesnt work as i recently discovered, so i cant pull any 180's or fun stuff and such. Can i fix this my self, or does it require a mechanic, and if i can do myself, any direction would be appreciated, thanks.

Check the cable system under the car, they run kind of in the drive shaft tunel. If they came loose or snaped it could cause a problem. You will have to jack up the car to take a looksy

On all the mustangs if you look, the e's have recalls on the mounting plate and recommend that you put it in gear (which I hope most of you do already)!

ehhh it's called a "PARKING BRAKE" not an emergency brake . They had this problem I believe in the 70s or 80s and changed the name because some people got their cars owned because they thought the brake was an emergency brake. Which it CAN BE USED IF YOU HAVE TO but for legalities it's a PARKING BRAKE.

It is only a simple cable operated setup controlled by your hand/arm, and only goes to the rears and so it is only something to hold the car in place ,not stop it from speed. Do you guys have any idea how many PSI hydraulic brakes run at?? lots!!

and by not work, do you mean you pull it tight and get nothing, or do you pull and is it very loose?

um..... i think all of us know the e-brake isn't for slowing down. i park on a hill and if i leave my car in neutral i won't find it the next morning because my e-brake.... er.. um... parking brake is so weak

like it pulls tight, but doesnt hold. ANd my friends parking brakes stops the tires right away no matter what speed he's going, and if your looking to do some stupid stunts, thats what you need, so are the parking brakes built weak like taht on purpose?
