higher boost on that requires more than 42#s I believe around 60 are required for it.
Not on a stock engine. 42's will be more than enough.
You should pay attention. He asked what other than rods and pistons, ie, it ain't gonna be stock. You don't put a 2.2L KB on a stock engine.

I have seen people put 2.2s on stock 4.6 motors, because they are planning on future upgrades.

You are right though, if he is going for big numbers the 42s won't be enough.

Also, you will need a new hood for the 2.2L, KB's website says it won't fit under the stock GT hood.

Ya, ive read that you need the cobra r hood, or i would rather buy a cowl, but anyways, i was thinking that i could intall the 2.2 and run it at 9 psi which wouldnt destroy the engine, correct? then i could later upgrade internals one by one and slowly increase psi little by little as i apply upgrades. Sound like a plan?

You won't be increasing psi "little by little" because there are no upgrades you can do "one by " that will be able to handle the boost. You have to jump right in with rods and pistons at the very least. A forged crank if you can swing it but not really needed. Cast cranks can take boost and are lighter than forged. Yeah, rods and pistons are the weakest links....

so cast cranks are overall better in everyway compared to forged? So how much is that going to cost over a forged? Also, would i want cast rod and pistons as well over forged, if i could afford it?

sorry for double post, but also, would i want like a strut tower brace as well to help maintain the integrety of the frame? or would a strut brace be in the way of the s/c?
