RE: Why are a lot of mustangs selling ~60k
I paid $5,000 fo an 00 GT Vert with some nice mods. Its in good shape, owner said it was a show car but he must have drove to every one! It had 89,000 on it.
30K miles later, at no fault of mine, head gasket sprung minor leak, then rod bearings went.
MORAL OF STORY IS....It was still worth it to fix it up and get it back on the road! Just got a new long block, clutch, brakes, and rear-end seal. WOOHOOO

I also believe that the reason people sell at around 50-60k is that the car seems to depreciate rapidly after that (closer to 100k).

Yea, it depends a lot on the market location, up here in MA. I got a good deal on my car, 2003 Premium GT, in Excellent condition w/ 17,000 miles for 17,900, including tax, title, registration, extended warranty ( car is covered bumber to bumber for an additional 75,000 miles as long as one of my mods doesnt result in the part failure, I read the fine print) Looking around at other dealers and private sales, the cost of my car was right in the middle of the road. Thats why when you go to KBB or NADA, they ask for your zip code, this was back in december and even now my car still books at 18,600. It also says average mileage for an 03 is 49,000 miles, that seems high to me, what about you guys?? Anyway, a deal is a deal, but take into account, mileage, location and condition to figure how good it really is.

I got my 96' GT for 4000$ with a 113k miles on it. Compression is still awesome on it! The main reason guy sold it because he bought a crotchrocket and it was running like ****....bag plug wires 3 of them...changed those....now it ROARS!
