STAY AWAY FROM SUPERCHIPS TUNERS
A while back ago i bought a tuner from superchips,i talked to the superchips tech. He told me that superchips tuners will work great with any bolt on.I installed it in my car, first thing i do is start the engine, and it pings, turn it off start again and does the same thing. I let it run about 5 minutes turn it back off same thing. The whole week the tuner was installed,my car missed every couple of takeoffs and had a hickup(spelling?)when it would idle.Got home went to go somewhere and it would not start up,finally got it started and did the whole missing routine again. Finally i took the tuner out after it continued to do this for 3 weeks.Take in mind i had only the superchips reccommended setting and was running premium gas.Anyways after tuner was removed it ran perfect.I called superchips and guess what?, they told me that it was only designed for shorty headers and a catted midpipe and catback, and a cold air intake. And they told me that it was not designed for any other addon and any additonal one could make your car run bad..his words. And his ingenious suggestion was to take the aftermarket plenum and throttle body off and run their program again.Yes i can imagine me taking my 350+setup back to stock just to run a simple tune. Also they do not warranty the tuner if you add any bolt ons other then specified,so screw up your engine by using the tuner with your mods and your stuck.Just wanted to post this and to tell you to go with diablo tuner or another one, the guy at blue performance told me that the guys at superchips are dumbasses and that the diablo tuner will work with any and every bolt on without harming the car.Take my advice and stay away from superchips they will tell you anything to sell you something, then will change the story once it has already been purchased.

RE: STAY AWAY FROM SUPERCHIPS TUNERS
yea i agree,i mean i posted that comment because i couldnt believe my ears i heard all these people talking about it on here and then the guys says not to use the tuner with any bolt ons besides the cai and exhaust, its like what the hell is it for then.If your going to pay over 400 its not going to be for somone who isnt going to mod more than exhaust.by the way beautiful car,so the 160 thermostat helped your car.

Chips are good for one thing...eating
seriously though a chip is very limited because it would have to be factory (meaning the manufacturer) reprogrammed for every bolt-on. What really sucks about them is they are not CUSTOM tuned they are sent out tuned the same way for all cars that have the same bolt-ons.
Hand helds are the best way. Buy a hand held and hit the dyno shop.

RE: STAY AWAY FROM SUPERCHIPS TUNERS
are you talking about their old one or the sct2? the xcal2 rocks and ive never had trouble with it. definetly get rid of what ever thing you got and sell it on ebay, then get the xcal2 if you need a tuner.
