Optima is known to be the best battery. As for warranty work you should re install the stock tune just to be safe. I wouldn`t worry about the shifter unless your getting trans work done.

Short throw will not void warranty. I took my car in for tranny work and the dealer actually told me the short throws are better because if you rest you hand on the shifter while in gear the stops prevent you from overextending the shift lever. I took mine off when I took itin, but next time I know I don't have to worry about it.
