Default Installing Steeda Short Shifter?

I want to order a Steed short shifter for my 02 GT and was wondering how hard the install is. Do I need to have it professionally installed or can an idiot (me) do it? Do you need any special tools and how much do you have to tear apart to do the job? Any help is greatly appriciated. How good are the directions it brings and how bad can I screw it up? I have limited mechanical knowledge but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn once.

A shifter install is simple. The directions should be clear enough if you really need them. If you are mechanically inclined in any way, you shouldn`t have any problems. Just don`t pay someone to do it.

You can do it. Just take your time and read the instructions. There is nothing hard about it.

if you ever put together legos or something similiar when you were young then its going to be easy, the directions are pretty easy to follow. Just take your time.

very simple. Pretty much 8 bolts you have to go through, 4 at a time. when going back together, you put some RTV silicone between the shifter and trans, and then put everything back on. very straight up install

Just make sure you scrape the old gasket off, so you get a good clean seal :P
