what would this sell for?
im gonna name a mustang with mods ect, and can you guys tell me what you guys would pay for it -
1. 96 mustang, rebuilt engine, supercahrged to 600 hp, new tranni, oz wheels stripped interior, sparco seats, new uspension, (lowered) body kit= $$$????
2. 2002 mustang, 450 hp, new tranni, nice wheels bbs maybe, sparco seats, upgraded suspension lowered, body kit =???
i know ive given very vauge desriptions- but i want to get an IDEA, of what cars like that ^ would sell for given those modifications, im trying to figure out which year/hp combo works best in terms of selling value vs what it would cost to build

RE: what would this sell for?
aftermarket parts add little or no value to the car. For a supercharged car maybe 2k more or something
It really has to be something special to make it worth more money, and efven then you will probably have to pay cash cause the bank won't finance it over the book value.

depends on the color, but I'd prob take... idk. Both sound nice, how exaclty are you planning on 450hp from a 2000gt with no S/C? I'm dying to hear this one, considering Code spent a lot of money to get 342RWHP

i dont see it being cost effective for the 96. even if its in perfect shape youll still lose money, gotta figure sc+new tranny+all the other work will cost probably 25 grand including the 5 grand for the car itself, and youd be lucky to see 15grand for it. some people are willing to drop 25 grand on a nicely built race car, but it would be a hard sell.

forged internals, bigger fuel injecters, you might want to have the heads p&p, upgrade tranny, you'll need a custom tune, and probably even might need get a stronger block or strengthen the block. But 600 hp is serious stuff you really need to be carefull with all that. Also if you want to get all that power to the ground you will need to upgrade the suspension, get some streetable drag tires, and upgrade the brakes to make sure you can stop with all that power. correct me if I'm wrong guys...or add anything i missed

thanks for the info^ i was jsut thinking man if i souped up my mustang to teh max could i make moeny off of it? i guess not-
this is off topic, but- kit cars. can you make money building kit cars, for example a FFR cobra kti costs 13k, plus a new 302 engine and tranni= like 18k, would somthing like that sell for a good bit over 18k?

I'm not sure about kit cars, but with any car at all aftermarket parts = worth nothing on the blue book. Not worth it if you are trying to sell it for a profit. Yes it's true that something is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay for it, but on a common SN95 or new edge mustang, you are probably not going to be able to sell it to an enthusiast for a lot of money. Maybe if you built a 69 Mach 1 into a showcar with a lot of horsepower, someone will give you a lot of money for it. Even professional builders like Boyd Coddington lose out on money sometimes building custom classic cars and selling it because the building process costs too much.
