Never normal to burn oil.

Unless you have a tube going from your head to your intake like 03/04 Cobra's, it's absolutely not normal.

There are many things that can cause an engine to start using oil... One thing i suspect is common among many of the people here in the forums is drag racing...

first place for the oil to start going on the modular engines is the valve stem seals. Mine is leaking there too. have great compression too! so i don't care, it's a high milage motor

Everyone is going to say something different, but I would not go over 6K, and I would change the filter at 3K...
