There are not too many cheap mods that will net a noticeable increase in performance from a 2 valve but getting that crappy factory intake box out of there is a good first step. There are LOTS and LOTS of cheap CAI units out there and 99% of them fit 96-04 GTs.
.......but if you decide you just want to remove the air silencer, it will help and you can also pull the screen out of the MAF housing for a slight increase in air flow.

is there anything in the tutorial section how how to pull the screen out of the MAF housing? cuz i ahve no idea what that is
