Is it stock? If it is save ur money for exhaust and gears and just remove the air silencer and put in a k&n filter theres a nice write up on it here:https://mustangforums.com/m_1135032/tm.htm Basically a cold air intake, for a poor man.Unless you just like the looks of a CAI i would go with us. I like JLT ram air too but i am poor and in college so i have to settle with the free mods...lol

Do you really see any power gains by doing something that simple? If so why would anyone ever go with a cai? Sorry, not trying to jack the thread, but just curious...

I just did some research on here, and a k&n typhoon CAI netted a difference of 6 rear wheel horsepower. I dont have any exact numbers for you guys, sorry, but its gotta help. The best mod for the buck is gears, I would spend my money on gears and exhaust first, then i would put a cold air intake on it. The best part though is its free, but it prolly wont net you 6 rwhp. I am gonna look to see if i can find anything else on this. Check back later

ok guys, i just checked, and it looks like the air silencer removal will net 1-3hp, and the k&n system will get 6rwhp. I personally wouldnt pay 150 bucks for 3 horse power. It is unnoticeable. So in my opinion CAI are for looks, so just remoev the air silencer and put a k&n filter in. Thats what i would do. Plus it gives you a nice sound too!

Hey man thanks for doing some research for us...1-3 horsepower is well worth 10 minutes of work...I just put a new throttle body on and wanted something to feed it a little more air and I already had the K&N, so I think I'll do that when I get home for the summer...thank again bro
