people get so down on 2v... i dont get it. you can really make a ton of power if you will spend the money. just like any other setup and the car cost alot less than a cobra so you can weigh in the cost ratio and it is not all that different. who needs more than 500-700hp on the street anyway.

yeah what is all this crap lately? who honestly needs more than 500whp for the street? i know the money is a bitch and all but hell, ill be happy at 400whp. ive spent a lot of money on my car too, and i can see why you wouldnt want to drop 10 grand into a built motor/tranny/blower setup. really though, 500whp aint too shabby especially considering you could crank that up later on.

Get a cobra.

How are you only making 500hp on a built motor? Go forged, run a Novi2000, and make 700rwhp.
I was figuring with a vortech running 10lbs making 500rwhp....then prolly another 2 grand in making traction achievable....
You can run WAY more than 10PSi on a built motor. Shiz, a lot of people run 10PSI on stock bottom ends.
Yeah Acer has the right idea. Hell there is a guy over at modular powerhouse making around 700RWHP in his 4.6GT 2v with the stock heads and cams... I know that's my plan. Get a nice centrifugal setup going, run the motor till it starts to get a bit old then put in a built motor with some stage 1 or 2 blower cams and get myself into the 600-700 RWHP range.

It's not a matter of need, it's a matter of want. Some of us like to take our street cars to the track and try and run fast with them. BTW going with a N/A 2v is going to cost a $hit ton to make fast, it's not that people get down on them, we are just being realistic.

Come on guys, why the hell did you buy your mustang? Go sell it and buy an ls1 if you want some better power for cheap. I do understand people who have their mustangs as weekend toys that want 500+rwhp, but for those of us that have our stangs as daily drivers, I think a 12 second daily driver is respectable. I know a 12 second 4.6 2v car isn't easy to do, but its not all that difficult with the correct mods.

Well I bought my new edge almost 2 years ago, and it has come a long ways. I had cash saved up for the motor build and sc, but am suddenly tired of it. Crazy aye? Just seems I made a bad choice when I bought a 2v. I've spent so much cash on it and really not got that far. Even with the motor build and SC, I'll only make in the neighborhood of 500 horsepower... That seems low for all the money i've spent on it... So....I am gonna go see about trading it tomorrow on a new toy. Still up in the air, but I'm gonna see what kind of deals I can find tomorrow... lol... probably going to be harassed for this but its okie..

i'd be happy with 260 hp at the crank (i.e. a GT).....but that is coming from a 6er....if you've put all that money into it....why sell it/trade it for a LOT less than you put into it to get something else......just finish your project dude!..it would make sense to sell it to get a cobra......if the car was stock.....but you have probably put more money into that car including the cost of the car......than a used stock (and slower) cobra would cost.....and i'll say it again....why don't many mustang drivers care about how their car rides/handles......why is EVERYone so concerned about going fast in a straight line...sure you can beat imports on the strip because they're mostly front drive and have no torque (DUH!)....why not put money into suspension and handling to kick their *** on a twisty road too....so then they can't say they can beat you in the turns......i plan to have three set-ups: one for the strip, one for the track/twisties/ and a softer set-up for the street....then i can beat on LS1s and other Small/Big Blocks on the strip......and K20As and 2Jzs in the twisties....
