yep! which I don't do! and they have a weak point, the shift forks. When i rebuilt mine, they were in perfect shape. one way to avoid damage is not to slam shift when you are bookin, and also (which I will be doing soon) is installing an aftermarket shifter (MGW) that has shift stops so you bash on the shifter stops, not the forks

re Traction control: My 98 Cobra does not have it - I think it started in 99.

Only traction control on this is to let off

Thanks for all the replies. I have read alot on here about the T45 and wasn't sure if thats what the cobras had as well. Like you all have said, it seems to be fine for stock and if you don't WOT shift/beat the living hell out of it. Anyway, thanks again. Your help is appreciated.

mine takes a 6000 rpm shift fine so long as I don't hold the accelerator down between shifts... i redline it and chirp 2nd gear with it no problem. Just gotta know not to overshift with a stock shifter or definitely have an aftermarket one

I know a guy at my school who has a cobra like the one you want to get, it is clean!!! sounds mean as heck too

I just bought a '97 Cobra Convertible with 85k miles and it has an oil leak that appears to be coming from the pan gasket & the CD player doesn't seem to work.

The CD player not coming on at all or it just reading when ever it feels like reading a disk? Its not uncommon in any vehicle nearing or over 10+ years for the CD player to go out... if you swap it for an aftermarket deck (like my sony xplod) you will hear a major difference in sound/quality from it. Its a quick easy swap.. or you can buy a 99 dollar deck at best buy and they will install it free.. either way.
