what is the result of removing your air silencer from my 02' GT

Better air flow yes, but the HP gain is not that low :P ...more like 1 or so.

Found a site that did some dyno runs and found it to be 4rwhp. Maybe I'll see if I can find it again.

Plus you will get a little more sound from the intake without it. And thats always cool.

I actually just trimmed mine up a little.

actually you get the HP with a high quality filter AND the removal of the silencer.

I have a WIX filter... it's no K&N but it's a great regular one

i may pull the silencer off sometime


the guy I got the car from had it set so the filter just clamped to the back of the filter housing ,and you pop the hood and it looked like a RAI. i'm betting that worked just as good as any aftermarket intake system, i may revert back to that

(I had him give me all the stock stuff just so I could have it)

yeah it more like 4hp more and a increase of about 1-2 mpg!!! Poor mans ( but very good ) Mod

So why would anyone ever pay 200 bucks for a cai or rai when it's only gonna get you like 2 more hp? I'm definitely gonna do this as soon as I get home. I already have the k&n, guess I never knew I could let it breathe even more. Thanks guys!
