whats the deal with gears????
Ok so I am interested in gears....Im just wondering for the people that have 4.10s or higher....I have been hearing that if you do get these high of gears, is your top speed low????so would it even be worth it?

I think we really really need to start emphasizing the SEARCH TOOL.
There are more "gears" threads in the 2v section than 2v mustangs currently cruising the roads.

the higher your gear ratio, the faster you get up to speed, but the lower your top speed. it's not like you're going to be cruising around at 140 everywher you go anyways, and to be honest mustangs cant hang with 80% of the cars today at anywhere much over 100mph. im not saying your car will be slow with bigger gears, but you might think of it as the bigger gears , the faster your quarter mile. i have 4.10's and i love them. i run about 2700 rpm at 70 mph with them, though.

Agreed. As much as we ignore the recurring threads here, it gets old because they are now pushing what little decent threads we have to the bottom and on a different page.

I hate the rumors as well, like I love when I tell people I'm getting 4:10's, they freak and laugh and try telling me that my gas will go down and all that garbage. Also, it seems like everybody knew a guy with 4:10's and hated them haha. But anyways, I would defanitely get some 4:10's man.

your theroretical top speed would be lower, your actual will be higher, gears lower your TOP END thus INCREASING your TOP SPEED cause your car can pull through over drive
