So, on my '01 GT, every once in a while, my dome light likes to stay on...i check the doors, trunk, etc, everything is closed...I check the switch on the headlight pull, and it's in the off position...sometimes it stays on until the car automatically shuts it off, and sometimes, I'll get in, drive a bit, and it'll just mysteriously turn off...
I tried looking at the door jam to see where the contacts were, but i didn't see any...
help?

i had this happen in my ranger. there is some kind of switch behind the ratio that has gone bad. i think its a $125 part. ford will know exactly what it is at the parts dept.

spray some wd 40 into the latch and make sure u spray it good and that shoud solve your issue. What happens is dirt and crap gets in there and cloggs the contacts....

WINNER... Had this problem on a SHO that I owned... A couple of shots of WD-40 in all the door latches, and no more light coming on and staying on.
